Gender Alliance for Development Centre aims to bring changes in the sector by advocating and lobbying in order to; ensure decent working conditions for women workers in the garment and footwear sector in Albania by holding the Government accountable for implementing the national and international standards. In addition, our project aims to reduce labour abuses, to empower women working in the sector and hold state institutions accountable to exercise the necessary control over suspected subjects which don’t comply with the right labour standards. Representing women in Court and following up every step of the process. The more cases we have, the more court decisions there are in favour of women workers, the higher the chance of setting a precedent for these violations, inciting women to come forward and gradually trust the system as well as other stakeholders such as the Labour Inspectorate.

The overall objective of the project is to improve working conditions in garment and footwear sector in Albania and empowering women working in the sector.
