Qelëz—Rehabilitation of Pieces of Damaged Local Traditional Clothing, Based on Handicrafts

The Gender Alliance for Development Center Albania is implementing the regional project “Increasing Women’s Access to Employment,” which is being supported by the Norwegian Embassy in Pristina.

One of the beneficiaries of this project, the Qelëz Women’s Group, developed this project in Qelëz in Puka.

Objective: To increase the number of traditional garments and to increase the possibility of use by the larger community.

Accomplishments:

·         Identification of damaged garments in the Cultural Center of Puka.

·         Transporting garments between Puka and Qelëz.

·         Washing and cleaning of the garments.

·         Buying materials.

·         Washing, cleaning, and ironing.

Transportation from the Women’s Groups’ Processing Center to the Cultural Center of Puka.
