Capacity Building of Women and Girls in the Artisanal Production of Soap in the area of Ura Vajgurore

The Gender Alliance for Development Center (GADC) Albania is implementing the regional project “Increasing Women’s Access to Employment,” which is being supported by the Norwegian Embassy in Pristina.

One of the beneficiaries of this project, the Social Change Initiative, Arsis, developed this project in Ura Vajgurore.

Objective: This project aimed to increase knowledge and skills among women and girls in Ura Vajgurore so as to enter the labor market.

  • Participants were able to benefit from theoretical and practical information regarding soap production.
  • A quantity of 45 soaps with 20 liters of olive oil was produced.
  • Also, as the women of Ura Vajgurore have a keen interest in knitting, they were also able to create things such as lace works, pillows, and bags.
  • At the end of September, near the beautiful historical city of Berat, they organized a fair of their products, which will also be sold in the characteristic shops of Berat.
