Workshop in Dibra: Deepening knowledge on extremism

On 21 November 2024, the Gender Alliance for Development Center (GADC) organized a one-day workshop in Dibra, in the framework of the project “Crafting The Future: Empowering Young Women To Counter Violent Extremism And Radicalization,” financially supported by the Public Affairs Section of the U.S. Embassy in Tirana.

This activity brought together teachers, doctors and nurses from the 15 administrative units of Dibra, in order to strengthen their knowledge and awareness of violent extremism.

The aim of the workshop was to equip participants with detailed knowledge on the local causes of extremism, implementing effective strategies to prevent it, and promoting cooperation among public institutions, local authorities and civil society.

An important part of the discussion among participants was about how to identify and report suspected cases, emphasizing the importance of their role in creating an effective reporting and intervention network. This collaboration aims to create a sustainable and comprehensive approach to these challenges.
