Kick-off Event of the Project: "Crafting The Future: Empowering Young Women To Counter Violent Extremism And Radicalization" in Peshkopi

11.11.2024 In Peshkopi, GADC organized a kick-off event to present the project: “Crafting The Future: Empowering Young Women To Counter Violent Extremism And Radicalization” which is implemented with financial support from the Public Relations Office of the U.S. Embassy in Tirana. Present in the event were important actors of the community, who discussed about the challenges of violent extremism and radicalism, especially among young women and girls in the Dibra region.

The event was opened by the executive director of Gender Alliance for Development Center (GADC), Mirela Arqimandriti, who made a presentation of the project and its importance for the community.

The participants were greeted by:

• Mr. Nexhbedin Shehu, Prefect of the Dibra Region

• Mr. Ruzhdi Deda, Deputy Mayor, Dibra Municipality

• Mrs. Lorena Isaku, Countering Violent Extremism Center

In the discussion on addressing the challenges of violent extremism, Mrs. Klejda Ngjela, Expert in Countering Violent Extremism, shared ideas for empowering girls and fighting against extremism through education and leadership development.
