Business Development Training with Women Entrepreneurs from Administrative Unit no. 5

Gender Alliance for Development Center is implementing the project "Women’s Economic Empowerment through Gender-Sensitive Value Chain Interventions" aiming to address issues of gender equality and women’s economic empowerment in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change.

The project is supported by Gender Equity and Equality Action (GEEA) Fund of the Department of State and the U.S. Embassy in Tirana.

Women face insecurities and obstacles to achieving economic success, especially in the context of the pandemic and the challenges brought about by climate change. The aim of the project is to improve their access to the business market and empower them as entrepreneurs, creating positive change and providing encouragement and inspiration for women with entrepreneurial talent, with the goal of economically empowering women and reducing the level of insecurity that they experience. The latest training was held on 08.06.2023, with the participation of women in business from administrative unit no. 5, staff members of this unit and experts in the field.

The training content focused on access to finance, budgeting, banking products, the value chain and insurance products. This training provided information and guidelines to help women make informed decisions and overcome obstacles to business development. In addition to trainings, the project also promotes the creation of an encouraging environment for discussion and cooperation, allowing women to share their experiences, learn from one other and develop innovative strategies in order to advance in the development of their businesses.
