The Social Contract 2023: Focus group with citizens of Dajt Administrative Unit, Tirana

7.3.2023: The Gender Alliance for Development Center is continuing the meetings with residents of the Municipality of Tirana in the framework of POP - Juxtaposing Political Offers and the drafting of the Social Contract 2023 for the local elections of May 14, 2023.

On 7.3.2023, we discussed together with residents of Dajt Administrative Unit about priorities and needs of the community in the areas where they live, priorities which will be presented to the mayor candidates during the month of April 2023 in the Tirana Public Forum.

But what do the citizens say and what are some of their concerns:

• Intervention is needed in the streets at Fresku, Thesari, Lanabregas, Priskë, Tufinë. Also, the villages of Murth, Selbë and Darshen are completely isolated and need road intervention.
• 24-hour drinking water is required in Priska. Also, more regularity is needed in the maintenance of the water supply network.
• A kindergarten offering lunch is needed in Dajt.
• According to citizens, the existing employment and business promotion programs are insufficient. They request an increase of these programs and of the number of beneficiaries.
• There is a need for more campaigns and awareness raising programs against violence against women and girls and domestic violence.
