Shkodër: Roundtable Discussion – “Improving working conditions and productivity in textile factories in Albania”

Today, the "Gender Alliance for Development" Center held in Shkodër a roundtable discussion titled "Improving working conditions and productivity in textile factories in Albania".

The participants in this activity were important actors, representatives of the Pro Export Albania association, the State Inspectorate of Labor and Social Services, the State Health Inspectorate, the National Agency for Employment and Skills, as well as the office of the Commissioner for Protection against Discrimination in Shkodër. Together we discussed important issues such as the employment situation in the textile industry, working conditions, the inspections that are carried out, informality in this sector, the measures being taken to fix the situation as well as the Government's project for garment factories and what this means for women working in these factories.

This activity was organized in the framework of the "Ensure decent working conditions for women workers in the garment and footwear factories in Albania", supported by the Olof Palme International Center and the Swedish Government.
