Exchange of experiences between organizations protecting textile sector workers – Albania & North Macedonia

On June 10, a team from Gender Alliance for Development Center (GADC) and the Center for Labour Rights, CLR.AL, together with women employed in the textile sector, visited the Glasen Tekstilec organization and women employed in the textile sector in Stip, North Macedonia.

With the support of the Olof Palme International Center and the Swedish Embassy in Albania, the three organizations protect workers’ rights in both countries, organize information and awareness raising activities, protect legal rights and raise their voice on behalf of working women and girls.

The textile sector is characterized by the same problems in both Albania and Macedonia: heavy work, long hours, lack of unions, low wages, difficult working conditions.

The main conclusion of the meeting: Solidarity with working women and girls and joint actions.
