The 16th FREJA Forum was held in Belgrade, in hybrid format. During the three days of the forum, participants from the Western Balkans, Turkey and Sweden discussed Democracy, Equal Opportunities and Resilience in seminars and workshops.

This time FREJA FORUM 2022 focused on the complex situation in Europe and the world. All of us are facing many difficult questions about the future, which in one way or another concern the whole world. There are crises of different kinds occurring at the same time. The pandemic, war, inflation, energy crises, economic decline, extreme weather conditions, threats to democracy and women's rights and many more both in Europe and the rest of the world.

The future must be built on sustainable development goals and the strong foundation of democracy and equal opportunities. The Freja Forum 2022 seminars, panels and workshops emphasized the importance of democracy, equal opportunities and resilience regarding current challenges and world crises.

For the 16th year, Gender Alliance for Development Center, as a FREJA partner, contributed in the organization and active participation during the three days of the forum, bringing a closer look at the situation in Albania compared to other countries of the Western Balkans.
