Durrës_Training with members of Workplace Security and Health Councils in the Garment Sector

28.9.2022 The Gender Alliance for Development Center, in the framework of the project "Improving working conditions for women employed in the garment and footwear sector in Albania" supported by Olof Palme International Centre, is organizing, in several Albanian cities, trainings with members of Workplace Safety and Health Councils at garment factories.

Here we are in Durres with members of the KSSHP (safety council) at the "Ambra" garment factory, which has more than 400 workers. During the meeting, we discussed with the members: • The legal basis • Why the KSSHPs are necessary • The benefits of the Company from setting up these councils • What the KSSHP deal with, etc. We also reviewed the risk assessment document and together with the members we created the Workplace Safety and Health Council Plan, with general measures and special measures according to the profile.

The same trainings are also being held in Shijak; Vlore; Elbasan; Shengjin; Lezhe; Shkoder and Tirana.
