POP_Focus Groups with citizens of Tirana in the framework of the Social Contract

September 2022: As part of the monitoring of the Social Contract for Tirana Municipality, Gender Alliance for Development Center (GADC) is continuing with meetings and focus groups with the community. The citizens recognize the work done by the municipality of Tirana for several priorities of the Social Contract, but they have also raised other issues, which will be presented to the municipality in the third-year monitoring report.

These days we have met the residents of administrative units 2,3,4,5 in Tirana and we are listing below some issues that the citizens raised for the attention of the municipality:

Residents of Administrative Unit No. 2 Tirana: "The road that leads from Nursery 54 to "Mihal Grameno" street is unpaved, blocked by mud, and there are no sidewalks. It is a problem especially because this road is used by children to go to school."

Administrative Unit No. 3: "Public transport is a big problem in this unit. There is no bus to go to school, kindergarten, and to the community center for the remote areas of this unit."

Administrative Unit No. 4: "Water supply is a problem, if there are no pumps and deposits, and it is supplied at specific hours."

Administrative Unit no. 5: "At the "Grigor Heba" and "Gjike Kuqali" streets, one third of the families have no water meters."
