Presentation of the 4th Monitoring Report of the 2019-2023 Social Contract, and the 2023-2027 POP Social Contract Tirana

The Gender Alliance for Development Center (GADC) organized on 22.01.2024 a meeting with citizens, members of the Tirana Municipal Council and civil society organizations. Mrs. Romina Kuko, chairwoman of the Tirana Municipal Council, Mrs. Keti Luarasi, deputy mayor of Tirana Municipality, and Mrs. Anisa Subashi, Director of Social Services at the Tirana Municipality were present at the meeting.

During the training, we discussed the main findings of the fourth Monitoring Report of the 2019-2023 Social Contract (https://popnetwork.al/tirane_raporti-monitorues-i-kontrates-sociale-shtator-2022-shtator-2023/), and presented the 2023-2027 Social Contract (https://popnetwork.al/kontrata-sociale-2023-2027-pop-tirane/). Signed by the Mayor, Mr. Erion Veliaj, this document will enable cooperation between the citizens, the civil society and the local government in the next four years.

This meeting was organized under the project “Social Contract – Strengthening Citizen Engagement in Local Governance”, supported by Olof Palmes Internationella Center and the Swedish Government through the Embassy of Sweden in Tirana, as well as by the National Endowment for Democracy, and implemented by the POP (Përballja e Ofertave Politike) network.

We thank the citizens, our closest collaborators, for their participation and engagement in this discussion; the chairwoman of the municipal council Mrs. Kuko and the members who were part of today’s discussions; the Deputy Mayor Mrs. Luarasi; the Director of Social Services Tirana Mrs. Subashi; and all the participants for their cooperation during these 4 past years and for building bridges to monitor the 2023-2027 Social Contract.
