Participation in the Gender-Sensitive Budgeting Community of Practice

GADC, along with its partners from the Western Balkan countries and Moldova, recently participated in the International Conference of the Gender-Sensitive Budgeting Community of Practice held on May 30-31 in Skopje, Macedonia. The conference, provided a platform for discussing and sharing good practices from countries like Italy, the UK, Cyprus, Albania, BiH, Moldova, Kosovo and North Macedonia etc..

The event featured insightful keynote speeches and panel discussions emphasizing the importance of gender-responsive budgeting (GRB) in implementing the EU Gender Action Plan. Key speakers, highlighted the crucial role of civil society, local practitioners, and academics in advancing GRB. The second day focused on practical challenges and solutions, with scholars and activists discussing the need for systemic change, the alignment of local priorities with gender-specific needs, and the importance of introducing GRB culture into political and social environments. The conference underscored the EU's commitment to leading by example and supporting GRB initiatives in the Western Balkans and Moldova.
