LNOB Social Mapping and Evidence-based Policymaking

In a recent step to help the community, Gender Alliance for Development Center and the Association for Local Autonomy are collaborating in a new project aimed at social mapping and evidence-based policymaking. This is not the first time that these organizations work together, but it is a new endeavor that aims to have a positive influence in the communities of Elbasan and Mat.

In an effort to strengthen connections and cooperation, Gender Alliance for Development Center organized two meetings with representatives of the Mat and Elbasan municipalities. These meetings, which mark an important step towards community development, provided a platform for discussion and exchange of ideas on the Social Mapping project and the ways in which the lives of citizens can be improved in these two municipalities.

The project titled "LNOB Social Mapping and Evidence-based Policy Making" aims to create a clearer picture of the needs and challenges faced by children with disabilities in Elbasan and elderly people in Mat. This will be done by gathering data coming from a wide range of sources.

Another important element of this project is the use of a clear and proven logic. By referring to the collected data and information, the Social Mapping project aims to bring about positive change at the local and central level.

The experience of Gender Alliance for Development Center and the Association for Local Autonomy in social mapping is not new. This is not the first time that we have undertaken such an effort, as we implemented the same exercise in the Patos and Lushnje municipalities in 2021-2022.

LNOB Social Mapping and Evidence-based Policymaking is funded by GIZ for the SoRiIII project.
