Training of Women Entrepreneurs in the framework of the Civil Society Week

29.5.2023 The project "Women’s Economic Empowerment through Gender-Sensitive Value Chain Interventions" has been under implementation for several months by the Gender Alliance for Development Center and aims to address issues of gender equality and women’s economic empowerment among the consequences and challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change.

The project is supported by the Gender Equity and Equality Action (GEEA) Fund of the Department of State and the U.S. Embassy in Tirana.

In a time of pandemic and climate change challenges, women have faced great insecurities and obstacles in their path towards economic success. By improving their access to the business market and empowering women entrepreneurs, our project aims to create a positive change and to serve as a source of encouragement and inspiration for women who show entrepreneurial talent and will.

The main purpose of the project is to empower women in the economic aspect and reduce the level of insecurity that they face. By carrying out a gender analysis of the business value chain in several sectors, we aim to identify challenges and opportunities for women entrepreneurs. Through trainings and sharing knowledge on business finances, the value chain and its importance, as well as on banking and insurance products, we will help them make informed decisions and overcome obstacles in business development.

In the framework of the Civil Society Week, we organized another training with women in business, focusing on 4 main points: Identifying the target group and customer-centered approach; Budgeting; Access to finance; Knowledge of banking and insurance products; and Strategic human resources management.
