World Day for Decent Work

Gender Alliance for Development center (GADC) in the framework of the World Day for Decent Work is organizing a joint meeting with "Glasen Tekstiles" Stip, Northern Macedonia and the "Center for Labor Rights" (CLR) Tirana.

This activity focuses on discussions to exchange experience regarding the improvement of working conditions of employees of textile and footwear companies in Albania and Northern Macedonia. This is the first meeting, which will be followed by other joint meetings in the upcoming months.

For years, GADC has been developing the project "Ensuring decent working conditions for women working in the textile and footwear factories in Albania", a project supported by Olof Palme International Center, funded by the Swedish Government.

Through this project, many issues related to decent work have been addressed and many issues of women working in these factories have been discussed and resolved.

After the meeting for joint regional actions, the organizations drafted a statement which will be distributed in the coming days to the main actors who should be responsible for decent work in Albania and Northern Macedonia, for the employees in the textile and footwear sector.
