Gender Alliance for Development Center , under the project " Support to the Swedish Government, Ministry of Interior / Albanian State Police Community Policing" , funded by SIDA and implemented by SIPU, has prepared a manual for all stakeholders in the fight against domestic violence with a special focus on officers of the Albanian State Police.
The discussion roundtable on "How to respond to domestic violence – a manual for all DV practitioners, with a special focus on Albanian State Police" was organized in close collaboration with Ministry of Social Welfare and Youth and Ministry of Interior, at the premises of the Ministry of Social Welfare and Youth. The aim was to discuss together with all relevant stakeholders about the content of the drafted manual and collect concrete feedback for its finalization.
This manual comes at a time when domestic violence in Albania is widespread and the number of denunciations from victims of domestic violence has increased considerably in numbers during recent years. It is required that all institutions responsible for preventing and addressing this Domestic Violence phenomenon are fully engaged and work in respect to the Albanian law, thus effectively protecting victims of domestic violence.
