“Gjej Za” Girls at the Offices of GADC

12 September 2020

Today we met two of the talented and courageous girls “DECODERS” who created an application called “Gjej Za” to fight gender-based violence.

These are the amazing girls from Albania who won the “Technovation Challenge in Silicon Valley.”

GjejZâ is centered around a 30-day program where every day the user breaks a false belief (myth) about violence, improves their mental health through breathing exercises, and finds the courage to seek help from motivational stories of other women who overcame similar situations.

GjejZâ compiles resources and services that provide help and advice and makes them easier to use. This includes legal, medical, and psychological services, and more. A number of training and employment opportunities to empower women economically are also accessible. Immediate help can be more easily sought through SOS, a category through which the use can contact all emergency numbers directly.
