Respect for labor rights for women and men in the textile and footwear sectors

In the framework of the activities "I am the generation of equality, to fulfill the rights of women" organized by the European Union in Albania on March 9, 2020 at Europe House, Gender Alliance for Development Center (GADC) in cooperation with the Center for Labor Rights (CLR), the State Inspectorate of Labor and Social Services organized a roundtable discussion on the topic: "Respect for human rights jobs for women and men in industry sectors”

In this meeting were presented and discussed issues related to the rights of workers in the textile and footwear sector by GADC; Women and men labor rights issues in other industry sectors by CLR; Reporting on inspections and advice on workers' rights in textile and shoe factories by the Labor Inspectorate.

Cooperation between all parties, intensification of controls, strengthening the work of trade unions, following up cases and resolving them in cooperation were some of the main recommendations from this meeting.

Such roundtables follow in the framework of the plans and calendar of activities that GADC has foreseen in the protection of the rights of workers in the textile and footwear sector.
